Goldfields Catholic Parish

St Mary’s Primary School is proud to be part of the Goldfields Catholic Parish, within the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth. The Goldfields Catholic Community encompasses Boulder, Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie, Kambalda, Norseman and Menzies, as well as having stewardship of the vast Nullarbor region.

Our parish is a vibrant and diverse faith community where people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds are warmly welcomed. Across its Mass centres, parishioners, families and visitors come together in prayer, worship, fellowship and service.

Our school enjoys a particularly close relationship with the parish through our School Chaplain, Fr Nicholas, who is very much part of the everyday life of St Mary’s. Fr Nicholas regularly celebrates our school Masses and liturgies, visits classrooms and spends time getting to know our students, staff and families. He works closely with the school in supporting our Sacramental Program and also supports families wishing to explore Baptism or becoming Catholic through the parish RCIA program.

This strong school–parish partnership gives our children opportunities to experience faith as something that is lived, shared and celebrated within a community. Our young people are recognised not simply as the Church of the future, but as a vital part of the Church today.
