Administration Officer - Position Advertisement

St Mary’s Primary School Kalgoorlie caters for students from Pre-Kindy to Year 6. We are seeking a friendly and welcoming Administration Officer to join our school community. This role is an integral part of the front office team and supports the smooth daily operation of the school in alignment with our Catholic ethos and values. A job share arrangement may be considered for the right applicant. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Provide relevant and approachable service to students and caregivers (manage front reception, phone enquiries, and sign in/out procedures)

  •  Support communication between staff, families, students, and visitors

  •  Maintain attendance, enrolment, and student records

  •  Prepare correspondence, newsletters, and school communications

  •  Assist with management of the school website, SEQTA, and AoS platforms

  •  Assist with office administration, ordering, and record keeping

  •  Provide basic first aid support and contact parents when required

 

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  •  A supportive and professional manner with the ability to maintain confidentiality

  •  A willingness to support school events and make a positive contribution to the St Mary’s community

  •  Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school

  •  Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team

  •  Strong organisational and communication skills

  •  Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment

  •  Previous experience in a school or office administration environment desired

  •  Competence in office 365 and school management systems.

 

Requirements

  •  Current First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)

  •  Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain)

  •  Working with Children Check

  •  National Criminal History Check issued by the Education Department WA
