Teaching Positions Available​

Upper Primary Teacher

 

A vacancy exists for an Upper Primary Classroom Teacher commencing Term 3

this year. This is a full-time temporary position to the end of 2021, with a strong

possibility of further ongoing employment.   

 

St Mary's Primary School is a double stream co-educational Catholic Primary

School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

St Mary's is a dynamic, vibrant and innovative school with an emphasis on developing a strong sense of Christian community. The teaching programs strengthen and enhance learning opportunities across all Curriculum Areas. Current resources and excellent facilities are a feature of the school environment. A 1:1 iPad Programme exists in all senior classes.

 

St Mary's Primary School enjoys a strong relationship with the parish, and for over 100 years, has played an important role in the establishment of Catholic Education in the Goldfields. The historical and picturesque school is located in the centre of Kalgoorlie.

The successful applicant will:
-Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons who can demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the following areas;

-A strong identity with the Catholic faith

-A demonstrated ability to build relationships across the school community and a high level of interpersonal skills

-Provide evidence of data-informed teaching practice through the application of assessment and continuous monitoring strategies of achievement practices

-Provide a teaching/learning program that provides for focused/explicit literacy and numeracy teaching that engages all learners and can integrate ICT within the learning environment

-Have high expectations about children's ability to learn

-A willingness to participate in reflective practice as part of a professional learning community

-Appropriate Teaching qualification

-Accreditation to Teach Religious Education in WA Catholic Schools is desirable

Applicants must be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic education and hold current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, to be eligible for appointment.
